Weathersfield — Vermont State Police said a 17-year-old Weathersfield girl who was last seen a week ago may be a runaway.

Autumn Sanville was last seen getting into an older maroon-colored car with three other unidentified people around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 6 near the boat landing in Springfield, Vt., Vermont State Police said in a Wednesday evening news release.

Prior to her disappearance, the Springfield High School junior had “made several comments to friends that she was planning on running away, and asked not to be contacted,” the release said.

As of Wednesday, there had been no known contact by Sanville, police said, and her mother on Tuesday said there had been no activity on her cellphone since the day she disappeared.

Sanville, who also worked at Charlestown House of Pizza, is 5-foot-4 and 120 pounds, with long brown hair and green eyes.

Her parents told the Valley News that Sanville had been late for school in the days leading up to her disappearance, which they think may be related, and which they only learned about after she went missing.

Sanville also had falsely told her mother she had to work at the pizza shop last Thursday night.

“Although Sanville’s statements to friends may suggest she is purposely avoiding contact, this investigation will remain active,” state police said in the release.

Anyone with information on Sanville’s whereabouts is asked to call Vermont State Police at 802-722-4600.
