Ashford, Conn. — Robert Bruce Foster, 84, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday Oct. 5, 2016 at the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, where he was surrounded by loving family in his last days. He was the son of the late Charles and Ruth Foster of Lebanon, N.H. where he was born and raised.

He leaves his wife of 59 years, Lorraine Foster. He also leaves his sister, Carroll Albertson and her husband Dean, and many nieces and nephews, his daughter Cheryl Chase and her spouse Laurel Thurman, his son Michael Foster and his fiancé Judie Threatt and her children, Matt & Katie and his grandchildren Kathrine Foster, Charles Foster, and Justin Chase.

Bob was educated at the UNH and UConn. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He and Lorraine moved to Ashford in 1959. As a high school science teacher, Bob taught for 3 years in New Hampshire and for 27 years at Rockville High School.
