Dedham, Mass. — The Dartmouth College field hockey team dropped a 5-2 nonconference game at Northeastern on Sunday.

The Big Green fell to 3-6 this season with the defeat, while the Huskies moved back over .500 to 6-5 with the win.

Northeastern charged out to a 4-0 lead in the first-half with goals from Kellie Stigas, Mia Martin, Jamie Bartucca and Kristin Abreu.

Freshman Carmen Braceras cut the lead to three right before halftime with her team-leading fifth goal of the season for Dartmouth.

It remained 4-1 until the 50th minute when fellow freshman Katie Spanos scored the first goal of her career on a tipped shot that had followed a penalty-corner bid.

That was as close as it got with Jessica Unger netting her third of the season in the 64th minute to put the Huskies back up three.

The Big Green is back in action Friday afternoon at home against Penn.

Women’s GolfDartmouth Fourth

Princeton, n.j. — Dartmouth placed fourth out of 12 schools at the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, shooting a three-day 907 at Springdale Golf Club.

Columbia won the team title by two strokes over Georgetown.

Harvard’s Michelle Xie won the individual title at 2-under-par 214. Sophomore Catherine Roddy tied for 16th place at 10-over 226 for Dartmouth’s top result.
