Windsor, Vt. —
He was born April 2, 1938 in Springfield, Mass. to Elmer and Vera (Streeter) Pomeroy. He was raised in Windsor, graduating from Windsor High School in 1955, then from Pierce Business College in Concord, N.H. He married Beverly Wright on Sept. 27, 1959. Bruce was employed at Cone Blanchard in Windsor, and was later the Data Processing Manager at Bryant Grinder in Springfield, Vt. until his retirement.
Bruce was a former member of the Vermont Army National Guard, the Jaycees, and the Windsor School Board. He was a longtime member of Old South Congregational Church, where he had served as a Deacon. Bruce was a passionate member of the Freemasons, achieving the office of Worshipful Grand Master in the State of Vermont. Bruce was also proud to be a 33rd Degree Mason.
He enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and playing cards, especially Pinochle. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Beverly of Windsor; one son, Steven of Lebanon, N.H.; three daughters, Tracy L. Tracy (Doug) of Claremont, N.H., Colleen of Windsor, and Sandra Drzewiecki (Shawn Darling) of Southington, Conn.; one brother, Robert Pomeroy of Chenango Forks, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, one great grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Hammond.
Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. at Old South Congregational Church in Windsor with the Rev. Amanda Lape-Freeberg, officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
