White River Junction
Belle Leister delivered a pair of goals and the Hurricanes ripped the twine four times in the first half on Wednesday on their way to a 5-1 win over Fair Haven at the Maxfield Sports Complex. The victory kept the Canes (4-1-2) level with Marble Valley League rival Mill River for third place in D-II, with only Stratton Mountain (3-0-0) and Milton (6-1-0) above them.
Sarah Jones and Abby Koff both contributed a goal and an assist for Hartford, which also picked up an Alice Dwyer tally.
“It was a good all-around team effort,” Hartford coach Jeff Acker said. “Two wins in a row; we’re playing well. The girls are heading in the right direction.”
Morgan White and Kendyl Boisvert split time in goal, combining on three saves for the Canes. Hartford goes to Burr & Burton on Friday.
Tilton, n.h.
Soule now has seven goals this season. Erin Gregory-Davis also scored. KUA visits Proctor Academy on Saturday.
Meredith, n.h.
Alex Schwarz set up the goal from Stenger, the striker’s 13th of the year. Disbrow’s unassisted goal, his second in as many matches and his third in four, gave him six strikes for the year.
Hunter Whyte recorded nine saves — including one on a penalty kick — for the Royals, who meet Newport on Friday.
Thetford
Alex MacVeagh powered TA with two goals and one assist. William Bosco, Connor Brown, Erik Lindahl and Ryan Lucas also scored for the Panthers, the latter notching his first varsity goal. Dylan Thorburn set up a pair of goals, with Brown and Nick Moses posting assists as well.
Anthony Stoffel recorded a three-save shutout. TA visits Rivendell on Tuesday.
Brattleboro, Vt.
The Colonels led 1-0 at halftime and soon added an insurance goal after the break. Cullen McCarthy put Woodstock on the board with 15 minutes left with a strike from 25 yards. Keeper Steve Bianchi had nine saves for the Wasps, who play at Otter Valley on Monday.
Bradford, Vt.
“We had a few offensive chances today,” Oxbow coach Barry Emerson said. “We had no subs for the third game in a row. I’m proud of the kids. They work hard and know they’ve got to play the whole game.”
Blair was assisted by Jarrett Rock. Keeper Mason Brammell anchored the defense for Oxbow, which plays at BFA-Fairfax today.
Newport
East Kingston, n.h.
LeClair, the No. 4 golfer in Stevens’ six-player lineup, won the medal with a 5-over-par 40 on the par-35 front nine. Cody Schoolcraft and Teagan Daignault both shot 44 and Ian MacDonald fired a 46 for the Cardinals (16-10), whose team tally of 174 was just six shots off their season low of 168 in a Claremont Country Club match last week.
Stevens moved into the seventh and final spot for D-III states with the sweep. Only Plymouth can overturn the Cards; the Bobcats (11-7) had a four-team match on Wednesday and will close their season today in another three-school contest. The state tournament is a week from today at Waukewan Golf Club in Center Harbor.

Newport
Senior Cameron Gebo led Newport with a 2-over-par 37 on the front nine. Classmates Brandon Whalen (42), Bryce Turner (44) and Darren O’Conner (49) also had strong showings for the Tigers. Gabe Edwards added a 40 and Kyle Fish had 48.
“Consistency-wise, we’re peaking at the right time. The bottom of our lineup is really pushing the top half. Today was great for the seniors; it’s a nice way to say goodbye to Newport,” Tigers coach George Campbell said.
Before states, however, Newport (16-0) will try to complete a second straight perfect regular season with a visit to Moultonborough on Friday.

Grantham
Hunter Marsh led Lebanon with a 2-over-par 38 on the front nine. Alex Bitler added a 41, Logan French had 45 and Kyle Pelletier and Kevin Kiernan each had 46. The Raiders will now prep for the D-III state championship tournament a week from today at Waukewan Golf Club.
Team scores: Lebanon 170, Conant 213, Prospect Mountain 216.
Hanover
Maddie Wallace set up the score seven minutes into the 15-minute extra session with a cross from the right side, Schwarz converting with a reverse-stick tap. Sophie Cardenali stopped one shot for the win, to which sisters Macy and Hannah Curtis assisted with their play in the middle of the field.
Hannah Curtis was playing her first game of the season, having been out since the preseason with stress fractures in her shins, according to Hanover coach Jean Essex.
“They were fast, and they had some good stick skills,” Essex said of Mascoma (5-3-1). “It was nice for us, the first time on (turf) in four or five days.”
Abby Duhaime excelled in the Royals’ net, making nine saves.
“Overall, it was a strong team effort,” Mascoma coach Jenn Hammond said. “We’re Division III; to be able to play a D-II school like Hanover and force them to overtime, it was a good game.”
Mascoma goes to Newfound on Friday. Hanover is off until a Tuesday home date with Derryfield.
Goffstown, n.h.
Both Bunten goals came in the first half off rebounds; the first on a shot by Leah Mayes and the second following a Meredith Melendy attempt. The Raiders played a strong defensive game in front of goalie Hope Brown with Emily Hunnewell and Corinne Kennedy both drawing praise from coach Deb Beach.
“The whole team played very good together. We’re just hoping to continue the process,” Beach said.
Lebanon plays host to St. Thomas on Friday.
Newport
Kennedy Pysz put Newport in front in the first minute, scoring with an assist to Kendall Hamilton. Lacey McNeel added a pair of goals to help the even the score at 3-3 at halftime. Hamilton added a goal after the break. Pysz added two assists, and Hailey Perry had one. Goalie Katy Jurado had six saves.
“We only had 11 today, so no subs,” Newport coach Becky Merrow said. “They stayed with it and fought hard. I was excited we got our offense moving, and I saw some good things from the defense.”
The Tigers (1-7-0) visit Bishop Brady on Friday.
Rutland
The Wasps (5-2-0) paid for a flat first half, falling into a 2-0 halftime hole.
Miranda Johnson scored twice in the second half for Woodstock, converting a Mariah Luce pass 16 seconds after the break and again on an unassisted breakaway with 10:10 to play.
“We came out very flat in the first half,” Woodstock coach Annie Doton said. “We just couldn’t figure it out.”
Johnson and Lily Doton both moved the ball up the field well in the second half, and the Wasps owned a 15-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Woodstock returns home to host Bellows Falls on Friday.
Hanover
Pillsbury keyed the offense with 11 kills and three assists on top of an 8-for-9 serving performance. Bristol was perfect on 12 saves with an ace and nine assists. Neumann included four aces on her 11 serves.
Hanover visits Portsmouth on Friday.
Nashua, n.h.
Rachel Fisher scored the game-winning goal in the 28th minute. Colby-Sawyer then piled five more goals in the second half to win going away.
Colby-Sawyer goalie Xena Ras earned her third shutout, making six saves.
Former Lebanon High goaltender Emily Foster had a busy day, making 14 saves for Rivier.
