Claremont — The Claremont man who was killed in an officer-involved shooting over the weekend was shot three times in the chest, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office said in a news release today.

Authorities have ruled Cody Lafont’s death a homicide.

An autopsy determined that Lafont, who was 25, died from the gunshot wounds during a confrontation with Claremont police at his Congress Street home around 5 a.m. on Sunday.

The Attorney General’s Office has said that Lafont summoned police to his home that morning but have released few other details about the shooting.

Authorities this afternoon corrected an earlier news release they had issued which incorrectly said one of the bullets had struck Lafont in the neck.
