Kingston, r.i. — Trevor Knight threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another to stake New Hampshire to a lead and the Wildcats pulled away late for a 39-17 win over Rhode Island on Saturday.

Knight finished with 207 yards passing and rushed for 64 as New Hampshire (2-2, 1-0) opened Colonial Athletic Association play by beating the Rams for the sixth straight time.

Dalton Crossan, who rushed for 199 yards against Holy Cross two weeks ago, totaled 87 yards on 19 carries against Rhode Island (0-4, 0-2).

Harvard 32, Brown 22

Providence, r.i. — Joseph Viviano III and Semar Smith ran for two touchdowns apiece as Harvard picked up its first conference win,.

Viviano had 205 yards passing for the Crimson (2-0, 1-0 Ivy League). Smith ran for 89 yards on 22 carries and Jake McIntyre kicked a field goal.

Kyle Moreno was 31-of-49 for 302 yards passing and three touchdowns for the Bears (1-1, 0-1).

Cornell 27, Yale 13

Ithaca, n.y. — Dalton Banks passed for 297 yards and two touchdowns to lead Cornell (2-0) over Yale (0-2) in the Ivy League opener for both teams.

Cornell took control right away, getting a 1-yard touchdown run from J.D. PicKell and a 10-yard TD catch from Marshall Deutz to build a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

Fordham 31, Penn 17

New York — Chase Edmonds ran for 152 yards, added 49 yards receiving, and scored four total touchdowns to help lead Fordham over Penn

Lehigh 42, Princeton 28

Bethlehem, Pa. — Nick Shafnisky was 29 of 36 for 461 yards and four touchdowns, Gatlin Casey had two long touchdown catches, and Lehigh beat Princeton.

BC 42, Wagner 10

Boston — Quarterback Patrick Towles passed for two touchdowns and added two more on the ground as Boston College (2-2) defeated Wagner.

Syracuse 31, UConn 24

East Hartford, Conn. — Amba Etta-Tawo caught 12 passes for a school-record 270 yards and two touchdowns and Syracuse beat UConn.

Miss. State 47, UMass 35

Foxborough, Mass. — Aeris Williams ran for a 16-yard touchdown and Jamoral Graham returned an interception 38 yards for a score on the next play from scrimmage to help Mississippi State erase a third-quarter deficit and beat Massachusetts.

Middlebury 40, Bowdoin 3

Middlebury, Vt. — Jared Lebowitz threw for 369 yards and five touchdown passes as Middlebury crushed Bowdoin in the season opener for both teams.

Plymouth St. 30UMass Dartmouth 14

Holderness, n.h. — Blair Zentek had two interceptions, one a 91-yard touchdown return, leading Plymouth State past UMass Dartmouth.

Stonehill 45, St. Anselm 34

Manchester — Matt Foltz threw for 317 yards and five TDs as Stone hill defeated Saint Anselm, who got 254 rushing yards from Joe Hayman.
