Lebanon, N.H.— Marjorie Gould Byam, 97, formerly of Wolcott, CT, and recently of Lebanon, died on Sept. 15 at Lebanon Center Genesis. She was born April 9, 1919 in Waterbury, Conn., daughter of Willard and Elizabeth Clarke Gould. She received training at Waterbury School of Nursing and worked at Roncalli-Woodland Nursing home.

Marjorie enjoyed oil painting and quilting, creating quilts for her sons and grandchildren. She cooked fabulous roast pork with gravy, and eggplant parmesan which she learned to make from her Italian neighbors. She and her husband were long-time members of Mill Plain Union Church in Waterbury, Conn. She belonged to the Ladies’ Guild there, the YWCA, the Wolcott Professional Nurses’ Club, was on theboard of direators of VVaterbury Association of Retarded Citizens, Waterbury HospitalAlumni Association, East End Senior Citizens’ Club, and the Evergreen Club at Waterbury Hospital.

She was predeceased by her husband Erwin “Burt” Byam in 1992, and her son Roy Willard Byam in 2002.  Marjorie is survived by her son David George Byam and his wife Kathi Kunsch Byam, her grandchildren Susan Malone, Laura Hubbell, and Joel Byam, several nieces, nephews , their children and her husband’s brother John Rogers.

A brief graveside ceremony will be held at Old Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury, Conn., at a date to be determined.
