Rehabilitation Reunion Will Include Tours

Windsor — Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center will host its 24th annual rehabilitation reunion from 2-4 p.m. on Sept. 21.

The public is invited to visit and tour the rehabilitation center, which hosted its grand opening last year, and hear current and former patients talk about their rehabilitation processes, according to a release from the hospital and health center.

The reunion is “always a very special event” for former patients, said Gay Landstrom, interim president and CEO at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center.

“It’s heartwarming to see so many patients returning to share their tales of triumph over their illnesses and injuries, many of which inspire current patients struggling with the same challenges,” Landstrom said. “It is also meaningful for the staff members who cared for these patients to witness and celebrate their continued progress. These stories are truly touching and remarkable.”

The event is free.

Reservations are encouraged, and are necessary for anyone requiring special assistance, the release said.

Lebanon Woman Is Employee of the Month

Windsor — Robin Oates, a registered nurse and Lebanon resident, has been named August employee of the month at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center.

A medical/surgical nurse, Oates has worked at the hospital since 2014, according to a news release from Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center. Colleagues praised expertise, compassion and “her commitment to patient care.”

Her supervisor, nurse manager Kim Ambrose, said Oates strives to be an advocate for her patients.

“She has been the voice during the night to speak for patients who are too tired. Her eyes have been the watchful guards that monitor their well-being while the rest of the world sleeps.”

Oates recently transferred to the hospital’s day shift, the release said.
