Lebanon, N.H. — Bernard Anthony Huckins Sr., 82, died on Sept. 14, 2016. He was born on Aug. 20, 1934. He was the fourth child of the late Leon and Antonette (Melancon) Huckins. He attended Lebanon school. He was in the US Navy from 1951 – 1955 during the Korean conflict and in the reserves until 1959. He was a logger for many years. Worked as a foreman in the Hanover Public Works for 25 years; retiring in 1996. He and his wife, Nancy Stark Huckins of 59 years travelled throughout the US and Canada together. He leaves his wife, Nancy; his children Pamela (Donald Spaulding), Bernard Jr. (Cheryl Tatro), Jill Newcity (Dean Merrill), David (Heather Haines). Eight grandchildren, Jason & Justin Spaulding, Nathan & Kaitlin Huckins, Ashley & Jake Newcity, Ryan & Corey Huckins and four great-grandchildren. He leaves one sibling Priscilla Huckins. He was predeceased by his sister Elaine and his brother Ronald.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bernie’s life during a graveside service at the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon on Saturday Sept. 17 at 11 a.m.
