Claremont, N.H. —
She was born in Claremont on Aug. 25, 1955, to Edward George Kosotsky and Marion Antoinette (Hewel) Kosotsky.
Raised in East Lempster, N.H., as her parents owned and operated the Chatterbox Store and Esso Gas Station, Joanne attended the Goshen-Lempster Cooperative School and graduated from Newport High School. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Writing with a minor in Education from the University of Bridgeport (Conn.) where she met her future husband, Bob.
She has worked as a Postmaster’s Leave Replacement in East Lempster, a substitute teacher in Naugatuck, Conn. and Sullivan County, N.H., and as a residence assistant for Sullivan County Rehabilitation Center.
She served for a short time as an officer of Off Broad Street Players.
Her hobbies and interests have included writing, reading, historical research, doll and plush animal collecting and decorating.
Joanne was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Edward Joseph Kosotsky.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Francis Tourangeau, Jr. of Claremont; sister-in-law, Jean Kirk and husband, Bruce of Naugatuck, Conn., sister-in-law, Judy Tourangeau of Naugatuck, Conn.; nieces, nephews, two great-nieces and two great-nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Friday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
