McLean, Va. — Margery Grenon Grainer, 79, former resident of Hartford, Vt., died Monday, July 18, 2016, in McLean.

She was born May 29, 1937 in Hanover, N.H., the daughter of Ernest and Virginia (Roberts) Grenon. After graduating from Hartford High School and The Stenotype Institute of Boston, she joined The Central Intelligence Agency. In 1965, Margery married Hans Grainer, a psychologist with the agency. She retired in 1999 and settled with Hans in McLean.

Margery was predeceased by a brother, Richard Grenon; and two sisters, Anne Jenks and Carol Bebeau. She is survived by her husband Hans of McLean; two sisters, Joan Kelton of Middlebury, Vt. and Nancy LeBrun and her husband, Jack of Lebanon, N.H.; also many nieces and nephews.

A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Jct., Vt.

Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. has assisted with local arrangements.
