Lebanon, N.H. —
She was born March 20, 1924, in Newburgh, N.Y. a daughter of Howard and Julia (Cornish) Goddard. Evelyn graduated from high school in Waterville, Maine before attending Gorham Teachers School and later graduated with her nursing degree. She was married to Albert Klotz June 2, 1946 and following his discharge from the Navy made their home in Providence, R.I. where Evelyn continued her nursing career until starting a family. The family moved as Mr. Klotz was transferred with his job at New England Power, living in Shrewsbury, Mass. and Andover, N.H. before settling in West Lebanon in 1964, where they lived until retiring. While in West Lebanon, Evelyn worked at Dick’s House in Hanover and then as a school nurse at the Lebanon School District for many years. Evelyn and Albert moved to Zephyrhills, Fla. after retiring where they lived until his death in 2010. Evelyn has been a resident of Harvest Hill in Lebanon since.
She enjoyed singing and in her retirement took up golf and square dancing. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband.
She is survived by her children Barbara Bovee of Palmetto, Fla., Cynthia Phillips of Wimauma, Fla., Karen Pippin and her husband Jeffrey of White River Jct., Vt. and Rick Klotz of West Lebanon; six grandchildren, Amanda, Jenna, Adam, Nicole, Tad and Kim; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Thomas of Statesville, N.C.
