He married Peggy Cameron of Hartford. They were married 17 years before divorcing.
Leslie was a jack of all trades; he had worked construction, farming, logging, and is known for building stone walls for people in the Central Vermont area.
He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, four wheeling, snow machining, driving tractors, driving race cars (in his early years) and spending time with his family. He was extremely proud of his Abenaki heritage.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Dyer of Sharon; his best friend, his dog, Tucker; two daughters, Karrie Longley of North Pomfret, Vt. and Anne Holloway of Kentucky; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Dyer Jr. of Sharon, Malcolm Dyer of Strafford, Vt. and Doug Dyer of Tunbridge, Vt.; two sisters, Denise Dwyer and Valerie Boles both of Sharon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father in 2013 and a daughter, April Dyer in 2014.
There are no public calling hours. A private graveside memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon.
