Do you long for the good old days of MTV, that halcyon era when reruns of The Real World or Beavis & Butthead were just a remote-click away and we all grumbled about how the network never played music videos anymore?

Well, here’s the good news: MTV announced Thursday it is rebranding VH1 Classic as MTV Classic, which will feature throwback programming from the ’90s and early ’00s mined from the company vaults.

The new channel will launch on MTV’s 35th anniversary, Aug 1, kicking off with a rebroadcast of the network’s first hour in 1981. (Time to brush up on the lyrics to Video Killed the Radio Star.)
