Orford, N.H. —
Born on May 31, 1960 in Lebanon, he was the son of Allan G. and Shirley J. (Weeks) Waterbury.
Charlie was a lifelong resident of Orford and was a 1978 graduate of Orford High School.
Following graduation, he enlisted and served four years in the U.S. Army which included a tour in Germany. He returned home to continue his service by serving in N.H. Army National Guard, retiring as (E-5) Sergeant.
In earlier years, he was employed at Everett “Shine” King Farm, Pierce Enterprises as a mechanic, and then 17 years with the Town of Orford as a road agent. He was currently employed as a property caretaker for Green Woodlands.
A lifelong resident of Orford, he was a 10 year member of the Orford Fire Department and also served his community as a tree warden and budget committee member.
He leaves his parents, Allan & Shirley Waterbury of Orford; a daughter, Whitney Banker and husband, Matthew of Canaan, N.H.; a grandson, Arlo Austin Banker; a brother, Stephen Waterbury and companion, Nancy Bemis of Canaan; a sister, Lisa Weeks and husband, Robert of Enfield, N.H.; four nephews, Justin and Derrick Waterbury and Robby and Chucky “Weezel” Weeks. Last, but certainly not least, he leaves behind his best friend, his little dog Crumb.
A graveside service with Military Honors and Fire Department Honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30 at Orford Street Cemetery in Orford. There will be no calling hours.
