Golf Pelleter Starts Strong At Maine Open

Augusta, Maine — Lebanon’s Pat Pelletier is off to a good start at the Maine Open golf championship, sitting two shots off the lead after the first day of the 36-hole tournament.

Pelletier’s 2-under-par 68 at Augusta Country Club left him in prime position to compete for his second pro tourney title. The Lebanon High graduate and Hanover Country Club member is in a group of 11 ties for ninth place. Ted Brown, Jason Thresher and Joshua Eure all shot rounds of 4-under 66 to share the first-round lead.

Pelletier won his first pro crown at last year’s Rhode Island Open. He’s also in the field for the New Hampshire Open this week in Campton.
