Woodstock, Vt. —
Following graduation, Deb went to work at Woodstock National Bank where she met some of her closest friends and stayed for 10 years. In 1982, Deb and George gave birth to their fun-loving daughter, Kelly. At that time, Deb went to work for Bill Alsup at the Poma Ski Lift Company in Woodstock, until she and George bought Ottauquechee Well Drilling, Inc. from Lloyd Moyer in 1985. Deb and George have worked together for over thirty years running a trusted and successful business in the community where they grew up.
An avid gardener, Deb spent many days outside in her vegetable and flower gardens, places that often made her the happiest. She also had a wonderful love for dogs, especially the many Golden Retrievers she and George loved through the years. But spending time with family and friends was always what she cherished most. Deb also enjoyed playing Clobber with family, shopping with her twin sister Dianne and her “bank girls,” attending car shows, spending time with her great friends Bobbi and Dick, Kathy and John, Jane and Dale, and her “volleyball girls,” reading, hiking with her dogs at camp, cranking up some Frank Sinatra, hosting barbecues, and drinking a good Bacardi and Diet-no lime. But most of all, she loved slow dancing with George.
Deb is survived by her husband, George, daughter, Kelly, twin sister, Dianne, sisters: Sue, Karen and Judy, brothers: Michael and Paul, their spouses; Rick, Ed, Ron, Don, Tracy and Lanni, step-father, Joe Laurence, nephews; Matt, Josh, Luke, Clint and Zac, and great-nephew, Bronson. Deb was pre-deceased by her father, Paul, mother, Maureen, mother-in-law, Georgette, and nephew, Seth.
Deb developed a special bond with the wonderful team of nurses and doctors who cared for her at DHMC, and, in lieu of flowers, Deb asked that those who are able to, donate blood and/or platelets to the American Red Cross or at DHMC’s Blood Donor Program or plant a flower in, memory of Deb.
A small service for family is being held. An on line guest book can be found at cabotfh.com.
