Castleton, Vt. — Daisy E. Currie passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at her daughter Janet’s home in Castleton. She was born on Jan. 13, 1929, and the daughter of Greta Trefry and Lyman Howard and was raised in the Proctorsville, Vt. area until she moved to Springfield, Vt. to be raised by her older sister Marion Robinson.

She graduated from Springfield High School in 1947 and worked at Woolworths and Fellows Gear Shaper.

In her earlier years Daisy enjoyed skiing, times spent at various lakes, and sewing for her daughters. Later on Daisy went to work at The Hartness House in 1978, retiring in 2012. She took much pleasure in serving the machine tool industry representatives at the front desk and later when the Inn became a destination inn for weddings. Daisy had a vibrant circle of friends who enjoyed church, music, dancing and dining out.

She is survived by her three daughters, Marsha Wilmot (John Hameline), Deb Willis (Bill Wiethoff), and Janet Currie (Mark Little); two grandchildren, Ted Willis and Kate Willis; and a niece, Anne Robinson Stocker (Stuart Stocker).

A memorial services will be held at the Hartness House in Springfield, Vt. on July 23, 2016, at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow.
