Kahului, Maui, Hawaii — Jeffrey “Jef” S. Crowe, 52, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Hale Makua Care Facility of natural causes.

Jef was born in Hanover, N.H., on Sept. 20, 1963, to Stephen J. Crowe and Linda L. (Jerome) Crowe. He attended schools in Claremont, N.H., and Monterey, Calif., and was an electrician by trade. He had lived on Maui for many years where he appreciated the sun and surf, the aloha spirit, the Hawaiian culture and the backwoods discoveries of the island. One of his proudest memories there was of the day he captured a wild pig with his bare hands.

Jeffrey is survived by his mother and her partner, Gayla Cowan, of East Thetford, Vt.; his brother, Kevin S. Crowe, also of East Thetford; his daughter, Kaleigh Crowe of San Diego, Calif.; his son, Cory Crowe of Redondo Beach, Calif.; his wife Sandy Logan of California; and aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his former wife, Kristen Keller of Redondo Beach, the mother of his two children.

He was predeceased by his father, Steve Crowe, and his fraternal and maternal grandparents, all of the Upper Valley.

The family thanks the staff of Hale Makua for their gentle caring for Jef and the staff and volunteers of Maui Hospice for their loving attention during his illness. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
