Bozeman, Mont. — Helen Crawford, 92, died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at her home in Bozeman.

She was born March 11, 1923, in South Royalton, the daughter of Robert and Mabel (Beckwith) Farnham. She attended schools in Tunbridge and South Royalton and worked at a machine shop in Springfield, Mass. during WWII.

On Aug. 31, 1945, she married Arnold (Freck) Crawford. They lived in South Royalton where they owned and operated Freck’s store until their retirement in 1984.

She enjoyed sewing and knitting and had a green thumb for flowers. She cherished time spent with family and enjoyed rides through the countryside of both Vermont and Montana, especially watching the wildlife in and around Yellowstone National Park.

Children, grandchildren, and great-grandkids were blessed with items made from Gramma.

She is survived by a daughter, Jonnie Cattani; and a son, Bob Crawford; a daughter-in-law, Linda Crawford; a sister-in-law, Sally Farnham; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Freck Crawford, a sister Dorothy Allison, a brother, Carl Farnham and a son-in-law, Lou Cattani.

There are no calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held Sunday, June 26 at 2 p.m. At the Branchview Cemetery in South Royalton with Rev. Josh Moore officiating. Fellowship and refreshments will be held immediately after the service at the United Church of South Royalton in South Royalton.
