Enfield, N.H. —
She was born in Springfield, N.H. on July 28, 1934, the daughter of Bryan and Ruby (Hooper) Putney.
She graduated from New London High School in 1952 and spent 20 years serving her country as a military spouse, to Richard O’Day. She returned to Springfield in 1968 and the last three years of her life where spent with her daughter, Anna and her husband Gene.
Alberta had an unbelievable work ethic and was a domestic engineer for many area families. She loved babysitting for local families, as well. She was a devoted Mother and everything revolved around her family, and spending time with them. Bertie had a tremendous sense of humor. She attended Trinity Bible Church in Sutton and most recently, Olivet Baptist Church in West Lebanon.
She is predeceased by two siblings, Arnold and Marjorie Putney and one grandson, Andre Currier. She is survived by seven children: John (Zac) O’Day of Springfield, Bonita and her husband, Richard (Ricky) Hanson of Red Oak, Texas, Ruby Currier and her husband, Charles (Chuck) Faye of Springfield, Anna and her husband, Gene Yeager of Enfield, Bryan and his wife, Sarah O’Day of Springfield, Janet and her husband, Rockwell (Rocky) Richards of Gaithersburg, Md., and Nancy and her husband, Vincent (Vinny) D’Angelo of Lake Worth, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one niece, Sandy Putney.
A graveside service will be held on July 30 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Springfield, N.H.
