Randolph,Vt. —
He was born June 7, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of George and Rose (Greco) Abbruscato. Joseph attended Brooklyn (N.Y.) schools. Following his education he worked with his father and brother as a mason contractor on Long Island. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during WW II. After an honorable discharge from the service he returned home and was married to Isabel Valenti January 28, 1950 in Wyndanch, L.I., N.Y.
The Abbrucato’s moved to Randolph in 1997. Joseph loved to dance. He also enjoyed building things, tinkering and socializing with friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Terri Parezo and husband, Wayne of Braintree and Joan Abbruscato-Bent and husband, John of Randolph; a sister, Rosemarie Ciarvino of Mastic, N.Y.; six grandchildren. C.J. Herman, Brian Herman, Wayne Abbruscato-Orr, Ashley Lizzari, Janel Bent and Ethan Bent; and three great-grandchildren, Dante Herman, Joey Herman and Kamden Doney. He was predeceased by his wife in 2011, a brother Marty Abbruscato and a sister Josephine Rigano.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at the Joslyn House in Randolph. There are no calling hours.
