Lebanon, N.H. —  Shirley Ruth Dudley Martin, 85, passed away May 29, 2016 at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital. She was born April 24, 1931 in Lebanon, N.H. to Harley and Velma (Sanborn) Dudley, the third of seven children. She grew up in Lebanon and attended Lebanon schools. On November 8,1947, she married Gordon Courtemanche and they raised their four children in Lebanon. She worked several jobs in the Upper Valley but her favorite job was as Senior Secretary at Dartmouth College. On Aug. 26, 1967 she married Stan Martin and they lived in New Hampshire, California and Florida. Shirley returned to New Hampshire in 2014 to be closer to her family. Shirley was very outgoing and social, she became the fashionista at Rogers House and she loved yard sales, stuffed animals and dolls. She especially loved her annual visits to Nubble lighthouse in Maine. She easily made friends and could often be found at the “Cave” laughing and people watching.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Stan Martin, her son Alan Courtemanche and two siblings, Eloise Bristol and Jean Wilcox.

She is survived by her children, Lois (Doug) Kerr, Wayne (Judi) Courtemanche and Lynn (Donnie) Langley; her four siblings, Marge (Reg) Locke, Mary Camber, Don (Naomi) Dudley, and Frank Dudley, her grandchildren Ryan (Gabe)Turner, K. Andrew Turner, Jessica (Zac) Dworak, and Jeremy Langley, Ray (Tammy) Clancy, Shauna Clancy, aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces & nephews (all of which were her favorite). She is also survived by her first husband, Gordon Courtemanche, and her sister-in-law, Nancy Campbell, along with many friends. She will be sorely missed by all.

Calling hours will be held Thursday June 2 from 3 p.m.to 5 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 5 p.m.
