Chichester, N.H. — Timothy M. Brewer, 72, of Concord died Sunday morning, May 15, 2016, at his home, the Kinghouse surrounded in love. He was born in Windsor, Vt. on Sept. 25, 1943, a son of the late Frank & Barbara (Tinker) Brewer.

Tim was a graduate of Hanover High School, Hanover N.H., in June 1962 and the New Hampshire Technical Institute, Concord, N.H., June 1968.

Tim served in the U.S. Army, from 1962 to 1965. During that time, he was an Instructor in Rocketry/Missile Technology, Fort Bliss, Texas, where he developed a liking for Mexican food.

He married Susan Roberts, Aug. 19, 1967, in Claremont, and again on May 17, 2012.He and Sue together designed and built their “dream house” in the woods of Enfield, N.H., in 1997.

Tim was schooled as an Electronics Technician, his career took him to KLH and Advent, both in Boston designers and manufacturers of high quality sound systems, his dream jobs! Later he moved to Raytheon in Manchester, NH, and finally went to Hypertherm Corp., a designer and producer of plasma cutting equipment, located in Hanover, where he was one of only seven employees at the time. While there, he became their senior technician, working on projects with the engineers, which earned him two patents.

He was a longtime member of the Baha’i Faith, serving on the Local Spiritual Assembly of Lebanon, N.H.

To his close friends and family he was known as “Tim Bear”.

Tim enjoyed camping and hiking in the fall with his family in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, listening to classical music on “hi-fi” equipment he designed and built himself; building and refinishing furniture which turned into a small business he named “Tim’s Woodshoppe”; collecting tools, knives and pens, and practicing “Old English” calligraphy before computers; archery, target practicing with his sons; Alaska, bears and smoking his pipe.

He loved his family, his Dobermans, working on his trucks (especially the old Scout!), shrimp cocktail, mince pie instead of birthday cake, and Claussen pickles!

Tim is survived by his loving wife, Susan of Concord; his sons and their wives, Richard Brewer and Cathleen Carbajal of Foster City, Calif., Karl Brewer and Elizabeth Gage of Cornish, N.H.; his two sisters, Beverlee Chadwick of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Pamela Shephard of Concord; plus numerous nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends, who will feel a great loss.

The residents and caregivers at King House in Chichester, where Tim live since October 9, 2014, will miss him greatly.

There will be a graveside service for family and close friends at Pine Knoll Cemetery, Hanover on Thursday, May 19 at 2:30 p.m. A memorial service and celebration of his life will soon be held in the Concord area.

Charitable donations in Tim’s memory would be preferred over flowers. Tim loved his three sweet Dobermans, Opie, Nikki, and Daisy Mae, the last two of which came from Doberman Rescue Unlimited (DRU). A donation to that organization in Tim’s honor would make him smile.
