Princeton, n.j. — The Dartmouth College men’s and women’s track and field teams wrapped up the Heptagonal Championship at Princeton’s Weaver Stadium on Sunday with matching fifth-place finishes.

Senior Dana Giordano capped her varsity career with wins in the 1,500- and 5,000-meter runs. Giordano became the first Ivy League woman to win the 1,500 in three straight seasons. Kaitlin Whitehorn added her third straight high jump title for the women, who tallied 81 points over the weekend.

Nico Robinson (decathlon) and Jacob Shippee (javelin) finished second in their events to highlight the meet for the men, who scored 51 points.

Cornell won the men’s title with 211 points, while Harvard came away with women’s honors with 160 points.

TennisChargers Sweep Titles

Latham, n.y. — The Colby-Sawyer College men’s and women’s tennis teams both came through in dominant fashion with matching 9-0 wins in Sunday’s North Atlantic Conference-North Eastern Athletic Conference crossover championship matches at Tri-City Fitness.

The Colby-Sawyer men blanked Penn State Abingdon for their fourth consecutive crossover title, and the women achieved the same by beating Penn State Berks. Both squads will advance to the NCAA Division III tournament, with both fields to be announced at noon today.
