Keene, n.h. — Hanover High’s Molly Seibel crossed the 100-goal plateau in style with six goals and two assists to lead the Marauders girls lacrosse team to a 24-9 victory over host Keene on Tuesday afternoon.

The milestone 100th goal, Seibel’s third of the game, came early in the first half as Hanover started its scoring barrage. Seibel, a junior, now leads the Marauders (5-2) with 30 goals and 15 assists in just seven games this season.

Maddie Lyons also had six goals for Hanover. Johanna Copeland and Hailey Fahey each had three goals. Jasmine Lou and Sonthaya Lacy each had two. Mahler Meyerrose and Amelia Lubrano each scored once.

Lubrano added three assists. Lou and Perrin Milliken each had two assists. Fahey and Cate Wagner each had one. Goalie Katlyn Hurd had three saves.

Hanover visits Winnacunnet (also 5-2) on Friday afternoon in a rematch of two of the top teams in New Hampshire Division II. The Marauders beat visiting Winnacunnet, 13-8, on April 16.

Lebanon 19, Belmont 6

Belmont, n.h. — The Raiders utilized a balanced attack in a dominant showing at Belmont.

Elle Brine and Kendra MacDonald each had four goals. Katie Berthasavage had three goals. Emma Hansen, Cecilia Webber and Ashlyn Tabor each had two goals. Clara Cole and Izzy Walker each scored once.

MacDonald had a pair of assists to finish with six points. Brine, Tabor and Hansen each had one assist. Goalies Elizabeth Jones and Libby Stone combined for seven saves. Lebanon (3-1) hosts Plymouth today.

Boys LacrosseLebanon 18, Belmont 4

Lebanon — Nate Damren exploded for 10 goals and two assists to lead the Raiders (3-2) in a blowout victory.

Damren, a junior attacker, now has 92 points for his career and looks to join the 100-point club as soon as later this week. Jordan Hammond added three goals and three assists. Michael Fleury also had three goals and chipped in a pair of assists. Luke and Jack Sandmann each scored a goal.

Aaron Damren and Nate Chickering each had two assists. Jeremy Corbin had one helper. Goalie Bryan Albright anchored the Lebanon defense with 13 saves.

“We looked really good on defense today, as usual, but still need to improve offensively if we want to compete to make the playoffs,” Lebanon coach Lochrane Gary said.

The Raiders visit Plymouth this afternoon.

BaseballSunapee 4, Newport 1

Sunapee — Newport’s Dylan McNamara and Sunapee’s Will Austin nearly matched each other pitch for pitch, but Sunapee’s offense took over in the fourth inning to give the Lakers their sixth straight win.

McNamara tossed five innings, posting nine strikeouts. Newport got on the board in the third inning when Kyle Rossiter scored for an early 1-0 lead. The Tigers, still looking for their first win this season, played without starters C.J. Lawrence and Noah Wade and only managed one hit in the game.

“We just couldn’t generate any offense,” said Newport head coach Jon Hamel. “We need to get timely hitting.”

Sunapee answered with four runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. Andrew Hayes finished with two hits, including an RBI single, and Cole Cruz also had two hits.

Newport (0-4) will travel to Fall Mountain today. The Lakers (6-1) will host Hinsdale today.

Woodsville 7, Lisbon 5

Woodsville — The Engineers held off a Panther charge to improve to 6-2.

Woodsville led 5-0 after four innings and 7-2 after five before the Panthers rallied with three three runs in the sixth inning to make things a bit tighter. Freshman Zach Moore pitched 3⅓ scoreless innings for the win, striking out two.

Seanon May led the Woodsville attack, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Eric Thornton added two hits and drove in one. Mike Dennis had two hits, scored a run and had an RBI.

The Engineers visit Blue Mountain this afternoon.

Hartford 13, Lyndon 4

White River Junction — Hunter and Jacob Perkins each went 2-for-4 to lead the Hurricanes (5-1) over the Vikings.

Jacob Perkins had three RBIs, and Hunter Perkins drove in two. Hartford’s Nate Walz was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Wyatt Connor made his first varsity start and got the win, going 4⅔ innings, allowing two hits and one walk while hitting three and striking out four. Jordy Allard got the last out of the fifth inning on a ground out. Codi Smith then came in for the sixth and battled control issues, walking four and allowing a hit and three runs. Allard then returned to pitch the top of the seventh, striking out two.

Hartford visits Mount Anthony on Friday.

Lebanon 4, ConVal 0

Peterborough, n.h. — Starting pitcher Derek Griffin got his first career varsity win, tossing a two-hit complete game while striking out eight against just two walks.

“It was a very strong pitching performance; he was dominant out there. This was a much-needed win for us,” Lebanon coach Doug Ashey said.

Still scoreless in the fifth, Joah Moss started a rally for the Raiders with a leadoff single. Griffin followed with a base hit, Caleb Broughton walked and Nate Perkins drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to put Lebanon in front, 1-0. Nate Gariepy followed with a two-run single to stretch the lead to three.

Broughton finished 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. Gariepy was 2-for-4. Lebanon visits Windham this afternoon.

Randolph 10, Thetford 3

Thetford — The Panthers (1-5) couldn’t keep pace with the Galloping Ghosts in Thetford’s home opener.

Lawson Ouellette had a double and scored a run for Thetford. Connor Brown also had a double. Thetford visits Oxbow on Thursday.

Winnisquam 3, Mascoma 1

West Canaan — Oscar Brueckner threw seven innings, striking out 10 strikeouts with one walk, five hits and one earned run as the Royals fell to 2-5.

“We just made some mental mistakes defensively,” said Mascoma head coach Guy Serviss.

Tyler Warner scored Mascoma’s only run of the game, off an RBI from Anthony Sperry. Winnisquam scored an unearned run in the first inning, an unearned run in the second and an earned run on Brueckner in the fourth for the victory.

The Royals will travel to Stevens today.

Harwood 6, Oxbow 5

Moretown, Vt. — The Olympians scored three runs in the seventh to reduce a four-run deficit to one, but the late comeback fell short as Oxbow dropped to the .500 mark.

Eddie White went the distance on the mound, recording seven strikeouts with two walks and 11 hits. 

Oxbow (3-3) hosts Thetford on Thursday.

Williamstown 6, Rivendell 4

Orford — Dametres Perry pitched five innings with six strikeouts, six hits and four earned runs in the loss for Rivendell.

Jake Kilmer led the Raptors’ offense with one hit and three RBIs. Colin Gould entered the game in relief, pitching two innings and allowing one earned run with two hits and two strikeouts.

“We just couldn’t get a big hit,” Rivendell head coach Eric Reichert said.

The Raptors (0-6) visits Chelsea on Thursday.

SoftballWoodstock 14, Windsor 3

Windsor — Madison Moore led the Wasps with three strikeouts, five hits and two walks, helped by a Woodstock offense that finally broke out.

Kaila Lemmer hit a three RBI triple in the top of the seventh, putting an exclamation mark on a six-run seventh inning for the Wasps. Woodstock scored six runs in the first inning and another two in the fourth. Elizabeth Fitzpatrick finished with two hits and two RBIs to power the Wasps.

Carah Rugg recorded five strikeouts and eight walks for Windsor.

Woodstock (4-2) will host Arlington on Friday. Windsor (0-6) travels to Rutland on Thursday.

Whitcomb-Rochester 6, Blue Mountain 2

Rochester, Vt. — Lindsey LaPerle had two hits for the Mountaineers’ including a lead-off triple in the first inning, and finished the game with three runs scored in her return from injury.

Hayley Mears had two hits and a double in the victory. Laura Vaillancourt pitched seven innings with seven strikeouts, four walks and five hits. Whitchester broke through with two runs in the fourth inning and added three more in the sixth against the top-ranked team in Vermont’s Division IV.

Whitcomb (2-5) travels to Randolph on Saturday.

Oxbow 13, Harwood 1

Moretown, Vt. — Madison Fornwalt and Mary Bourgeois combined to pitch a one-hitter to lead the Olympians over the Highlanders.

Fornwalt pitched the first four innings, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out eight. Bourgeois pitched three innings of relief, striking out five while allowing an unearned run.

Bourgeois helped her own cause, going 2-for-4 with a double to drive in one. Kayleigh Trojanowski was 3-for-5. Brittanny Brocar was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Oxbow hosts Thetford on Thursday.

Sunapee 10, Newport 5

Sunapee — The Lakers (7-0) pounded out 13 hits to beat the visiting Tigers (2-2).

Faith Larpenter led Sunapee at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Katie Frederick was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Rachel Malanga belted a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Olivia Hamilton had a single and two RBIs, and Jessica Parsons had two hits.

Frederick pitched the first 5⅓ innings for the Lakers, striking out seven while allowing one earned run. Larpenter pitched the duration in relief, allowing four runs while fanning one.

Gabby Scanlon singled and drove in three for Newport. Kendall Hamilton added two hits. Stephanie Carl singled and scored two runs. Carl went all six innings in the circle, striking out six.

Both teams play this afternoon when Sunapee visits Hinsdale and Newport visits Fall Mountain.

Randolph 7, Thetford 5

Thetford — The Panthers committed 15 errors for their first loss of the season.

Thetford’s Taylor Hollis threw 3 2/3 innings, allowing six runs. Brooke Horniak entered the game in relief, allowing only one run through the remainder. Maddy Kingsbury had two hits, two walks and stole four bases for Thetford, and Jordan Mousley had two hits and three stolen bases.

Randolph’s Sierra Rikert pitched a complete game, mixing five strikeouts and seven walks.

Thetford (4-1) will play Oxbow on Thursday.

Winnisquam 16, Mascoma 1

Enfield— Raeleigh Mansur was 2-for-3 to lead the Royals in a tough matchup with the Bears.

Abby Duhaime added a base hit. Coach Bill O’Connell commented on the strong defensive work of outfielders Katie Pushee and Rebekah Dimond. Mascoma (0-7) visits Stevens today.

Williamstown 24, South Royalton 15

Williamstown, Vt. — The Royals came out on the short end of a back-and-forth tilt with the Blue Devils.

South Royalton led 7-6 after three innings and 12-8 after four. Williamstown answered with 16 runs in the fifth and sixth innings combined to pull away.

Anna Meeks had two singles and a double, scored a run, stole two bases and drove in three for the Royals. Mara Southworth had three hits, scored twice and drove in two. Grace Pease had three hits, two runs, a stolen base and finished with four RBIs.

Rachel Moore pitched a complete game for SoRo (4-4), which visits Twinfield on Thursday.

Lisbon 6, Woodsville 3

Woodsville — Alyssa Prest only allowed four hits, three of them doubles, but Lisbon was able to capitalize and drop the Engineers to 5-3.

Prest pitched seven innings, recording four strikeouts and three walks. Nikita Duling had a double for Woodsville, and Gabrielle Taylor had a double and two RBIs. Lisbon jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and added three more runs in the fourth. The Engineers scored twice in the sixth inning, but the comeback fell short.

Woodsville will travel to Blue Mountain tomorrow.

Boys TennisWoodstock 5, Bellows Falls 2

Westminster, Vt. — Gardner Gottshegen earned his first varsity singles win as the Wasps jumped to 3-3.

Gottshegan, Oliver Wilson, and Peter Borden all earned singles victories, along with Justin Kopf and Ethan Earl at No. 1 doubles.

The Wasps head to Brattleboro today.

Girls TennisWoodstock 7, Bellows Falls 0

Westminster, Vt. — The Wasps got back into the win column, bouncing back from their lone loss.

Grace Frazier, Momo Biele, Morgan Hartman and Kenzie Biele, Woodstock’s top four singles players, all earned victories. Katey MacMaster and Chloe Noble won at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-1, and Emma King and Elise Geschardt earned the win at No. 2 doubles, 6-0, 6-1.

Woodstock (5-1) hosts Brattleboro today.

GolfOV Edges Woodstock, Hartford 

Woodstock — Woodstock’s Joel Bianchi and Hartford’s Cody Wessel tied for the medal, but Otter Valley took the team win on Woodstock Country Club’s par-35 front nine.

Bianchi and Wessel both finished at 9-over-par 44. Sam Dwyer shot 46 for Hartford, joined by Brandon Chiasson at 47 and Ben Healy at 54. Woodstock’s Braden McCarthy shot 49, and Kevin O’Connell (51) and Andrew Borden (55) completed the scoring. Otter Valley won the match by one stroke.

Woodstock and Hartford will play Rivendell at Lake Morey on Thursday.

Team Scores: Otter Valley 190, Hartford 191, Woodstock 199.

Rivendell Wins Second Match

Rutland — Ryan Landgraf led the way with a 5-over 40 as Rivendell edged Mill River and Poultney for its second win in as many matches.

Jake Perkins shot a 49 on Rutland Country Club’s par-35 front side to back Landgraf’s round. Jack Campbell shot 50 and Tanner Stevens shot 54 to complete the Raptors’ tally. Rivendell joins Woodstock, Hartford and Mid Vermont Christian at Lake Morey Country Club on Thursday.

Team Scores: Rivendell 182, Mill River 231, Poultney 293. 

Track and FieldHartford, Woodstock Split

Springfield, Vt. — Hartford’s girls track and field team beat Woodstock by 61½ points while the Wasps’ boys team came out ahead in a meet at Springfield High School.

Hartford’s Shanan Hamilton led the way with first-place finishes in the girls 8000, 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. The Canes’ Rachel Seaver placed second in the 1,600 and fourth in the 800. Julia Anderson, Megan Newton and Sarah Boulanger swept the top three spots in the discus, and Ileana Sirois won the 100 hurdles.

Hartford’s Deveon Martin edged Woodstock’s Bill Wood by two seconds in the boys 400 dash. Wood followed up with a win in the javelin, while the Wasps’ Cole Wescott won the discus and took second in the shot put.

Boys Team Scores: Woodstock 150, Springfield 137, Hartford 118, Rochester 10.

Girls Team Scores: Hartford 210, Woodstock 148½, Springfield 98½, Rochester 5.

Men’s TennisDartmouth Returns to NCAAs

Hanover — For the first time since 1997, the Dartmouth men’s tennis team is going to the NCAA tournament.

The Big Green will battle Tulane in the round of 64 at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. The first two rounds of the tournament will be played May 13 and 15.

Dartmouth closed the regular season on April 23 with a 4-0 victory over Harvard to finish with an 18-8 overall record and a 6-1 mark in Ivy League play. The Big Green spent the entirety of 2016 in the national rankings and is currently sitting at No. 39.
