Hanover — The Dartmouth College softball team saw its nine-game winning streak shot down in a 4-3 loss to UMass Lowell on Tuesday at the Dartmouth Softball Park, but the Big Green blanked the River Hawks, 8-0, in game two for a split of their nonleague doubleheader.

Down 4-1, the Big Green (20-10) rallied for two runs in the home fifth, but couldn’t complete the comeback for pitcher Lauren Stone, who took a complete-game loss.

The Big Green jumped to a 3-0 lead after one inning in the nightcap and was never challenged. Morgan McCalmon faced one batter over the minimum over four innings for her 11th win of the season, Breanna Ethridge tossed a two-inning save, and three Big Green batters — Katie McEachern, Maddie Damore and Kassidy Williams — contributed two hits apiece.
