Concord — The Executive Council has approved a long-contested plan to expand the ski resort at Mount Sunapee.
The vote today was 3-1, with Colin Van Ostern, a Concord Democrat running for governor, voting against the proposal this morning.
Republican Chris Sununu, who is also running for governor, recused himself because he is the CEO at Waterville Valley ski area.
Executive Councilor Joe Kenney, a Republican who represents the Upper Valley, voted for the expansion.
