The bride-to-be is a graduate of Hanover High School and received her bachelor’s degree in fine arts from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
She has worked for the Soho Grand Hotel in Manhattan as event director for five years and is now employed at the hotel’s sister property, the Roxy Hotel, as director of group sales.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Mike and Jane Claesgens, of Park Ridge, N.J. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Penn State University and earned two master’s degrees — in education and academic advising — from Brooklyn College and Kansas State University. He is a math, special education and general psychology teacher at a public high school in Long Island City.
The couple plan a July wedding in Waitsfield, Vt., and will continue to reside in Manhattan.
