Hartman was selected the NHIAA Division I girls hockey player of the year by the New Hampshire High School Hockey Coaches Association over the weekend. She fronts a roster of six Marauders chosen for the D-I all-state girls hockey team, which was released in conjunction with Saturday’s state championship games at Verizon Wireless Arena. Hanover won its seventh straight NHIAA crown and its eight in nine years of state sanctioning with a 4-1 defeat of Berlin-Gorham at Verizon Wireless Arena.
Hartman, linemate Eliza Laycock and defenseman J.J. Taube made the all-state first team. The Marauders also placed three players on the honorable mention squad: blueliner Sarah MacCormick and forwards Cate Wagner and Kelly Brigham.
Hartman had a goal and an assist in Saturday’s win to finish the season with 49 goals and 41 assists. That upped her career tally to 250 points, second in program history only to 2008 Hanover graduate and assistant coach Josie Fisher’s 257.
Runner-up Berlin-Gorham filled out the other first-team spots with goaltender Chelsea Caron, forward Rylie Bennett and defenseman Meagan Accardi. Souhegan’s Kelli Braley was named coach of the year.
The Marauders finished 20-1-2 overall and 18-1-2 in league play. They’ve won 72 straight games against NHIAA opposition dating back to 2012 and graduate five seniors in Hartman, Laycock, Brigham, Julia Montgomery and Ella Williams.
Skaters from Hanover’s boys team and both Lebanon squads were bypassed for all-state honors by the coaches in their respective divisions.
