Heads-up work

Amos Daisey, of Orford, N.H., cleans a deer skull while making a European skull mount for a customer on Friday, March 7, 2025. Using deer, bore and bear heads, Daisey boils them for hours, cleans and dries the skulls before brushing their teeth and using a whitener. He said the whole process takes about three days. Daisey’s family farm, Cotton Stone Farm, was started by his grandfather. Today, the family runs a wholesale cut flower business, a bait shop and a meat-cutting business. “We’re trying to make the farm work,” he said.(Valley News-Jennifer Hauck)
