CHELSEA — Voters approved general fund spending of almost $1.3 million on a 48-29 vote during a three-hour Town Meeting on Tuesday.
The proposed budget had been increased on the floor by about $15,000 to increase money for benefits for employees and to help pay for an audit.
Incumbent Kent Gilman, Liam Hogan and Karen Lathrop were elected to seats on the Chelsea Selectboard, and Lathrop was also re-elected as town clerk.
On Monday night, Chelsea and Tunbridge residents met at Tunbridge Central School and approved the $6.7 million First Branch Unified School District budget on a 65-21 vote.
Nicholas Zigelbaum and Michael Gray were elected as school directors from Chelsea. Maryann Caron was re-elected as a school director from Tunbridge.
