David Hodge, of Canaan, stopped for the second day to look at a bear cub in the top of a poplar tree in Enfield, N.H., Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018. Black bear expert Ben Kilham, of Lyme, N.H., who was called to assess the cub's situation, urged people to keep clear of the area in case the bear's mother was nearby. Kilham plans to enlist help to get the bear safely down if it is still there Thursday morning. (Valley News - James M. Patterson) Copyright Valley News.
