Following a prompt by Valley News photo and graphics editor Geoff Hansen, a dozen Hanover High School photography students submitted work for the third and final young photographers installment this year.
The subject is “Thing.” The photographs shown were selected for the variety of approaches the photographers took to their subjects. (The complete collection can be seen on the Valley News website, www.vnews.com.)
Kara Waters, who teaches photography as well as design and digital art at Hanover, said her students enjoyed submitting work for all three prompts (a person, a place and a thing that is most important to them).
“It was a good opportunity to help them think conceptually,” Waters said. “It goes beyond the classroom, and they love seeing their work published.”
