Enfield, N.H. — Paula K. (Nelson) Blake, 69, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017. She was born and raised in Barre, Vt., and was a graduate of Marian High School. It was in high school that Paula met Gary Blake and on Jan. 7, 1967, they were married after a short courtship. They had three children together, Kristine, Deborah and Timothy. In 1986 the family relocated to Lebanon, N.H. Paula served in many administrative positions throughout her career working for Blake’s Linoleum in Barre, Mascoma Bank in Lebanon and for the State of NH-Department of Unemployment.

After their children married and started families of their own, Paula and Gary moved to picturesque Mascoma Lake. It was there that Paula enjoyed many hours in her rocking chair on the porch, taking in the beauty and peacefulness of the scenery. She was an avid reader, enjoyed home decorating and was a big fan of NASCAR racing.

Paula was predeceased by both her parents, Kenneth & Pauline (Burke) Nelson Sr.; her brother, Kenneth Nelson Jr.; and her sister, Kay Lamberti. She is survived by her husband, Gary Blake; her daughter, Kristine Harrington and husband, John of Wilder, Vt.; and her daughter, Deborah Lacey and husband, Christian of Randolph, Vt.; and her son, Timothy Blake of Enfield, N.H. Paula also leaves her sister, Debra Allen; three grandchildren, Brooke, Brianna and Zachary; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
