Hanover — The Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College has hired Mary Lou Aleskie as its next director.

Aleskie has served as the director of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, a 15-day series of performing arts, lectures and public conversations in New Haven, Conn., since 2005, according to a news release from Dartmouth College.

Aleskie will take over the Hop sometime in spring 2017, replacing Jeff James, who retired last year.
