Mark was born in Bangor, Maine the son of Howard and Elsie (Patterson) Stormann, Jr. He grew up on Bennoch Rd. in Stillwater, Maine. He attended local schools graduating from Old Town High School class of 1967. He continued his education at Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute graduating in 1969.
Mark went to work for New England Power Service Company now National Grid. He retired in 2011 after 42 years of service, the last 29 years as supervisor of the communications and control department.
He was married to Roberta MacWilliams on May 15, 1982, in Croydon, N.H. They made their home on Freeman Rd. in Plainfield for the past 31 years.
Mark loved to work around his home, be it mowing the field, driving his tractor or stacking his famous woodpile. He got personal satisfaction from hard work and a job well done.
Mark had many different interests. He enjoyed a good cribbage game with his kids, hiking, kayaking, watching a good western, going to the coast for lobster, feeding the birds, and watching the bald eagles on River Rd. He thoroughly enjoyed ending every day with a bowl of ice cream. He looked forward to his daily walks with his dog Pepper, a common sight in the neighborhood. His favorite pastime was to care for and ride his horse Desi on the back roads and trails around Plainfield and Cornish.
Mark was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Bonnie Pinnette.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta; son, Matthew Stormann and wife, Bobbie of Farmington, N.H.; daughters, Amy (Stormann) Kotz and husband, Corey of Milford, N.H., and Shelby (Stormann) Nicak and husband, Adam of Mapleton Maine; three grandsons, Jacob and Luke Stormann and Nolan Kotz; his sister, Elizabeth Tweedie of Old Town, Maine; uncle, Ronald Stormann; aunts, Adathe Stormann, Lucille Snedden, and Carlotta Cross; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct, Vt.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at 1 p.m. at The Plainfield Community Church in Plainfield. A private burial will be held at Westgate-Peterson Cemetery.
