Bradford, Vt. — Edna Gregas Feuerstein died on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017. She was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Port Washington, N.Y. She attended schools there and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1941. During World War II, she worked for Gruman Aeronautics, building planes for the war effort.

After the war, she married Clarence E. Feuerstein of Great Neck, N.Y. They settled in Port Washington in the Gregas family home. Edna was one of the first employees of Publishers Clearing House and worked there until she retired in 1989. During that time, she enjoyed family gatherings, gardening and summering on Crystal Lake in New Hampshire.

In 1989 she and her husband retired to Bradford. She continued to garden, and began to travel, taking many trips around the northeast and Canada. She was active in the community, participating in the Orange County Senior Center, the Friendship Club and the Bradford United Methodist Church hand bell choir.

Mrs. Feuerstein is survived by two sons, Robert Feuerstein and his spouse, Lisa Gover of Grantham, N.H. and Gregg Feuerstein of Bradford. She is predeceased by her husband Clarence  “El” Feuerstein.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the  family lot in Sawyer Cemetery in Bradford. There are no calling hours.
