Grantham
Two bodies were found at 51 Bright Slope Way in Grantham, and there is “an ongoing investigation into whether a crime has occurred,” according to a news release issued on Monday afternoon by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.
Authorities said “the deceased individuals were located in their home,” and that, “there is no evidence to suggest that there is a threat to the general public.”
Officials released few other details, including the names of the deceased and their suspected causes of death.
Jane Young, the state attorney general’s director of public protection, said on Monday night that no new information would be released until autopsies were completed. Young didn’t say when those would take place.
Grantham assessing records indicate the home was built in 2005 and has been jointly owned since then by Michael and Michele Sbrega.
Michele Issokson Sbrega has worked at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, according to her Facebook page, and a D-H listing indicates she has a Master’s of Science degree and works as a specialist in clinical trials.
The Sbrega home, a three-bedroom, 2,034-square-foot ranch house in Grantham’s Eastman community, sits on an acre of land and is assessed at $274,000.
Neighbors said they don’t see the Sbregas often.
Christine Parra, who lives across the street at 50 Bright Slope Way, said she has only spoken to Michele Sbrega three times over the last 10 years.
Each time was just a neighborly hello, Parra said, calling Michele Sbrega “very sweet.”
She has never met Michael Sbrega, she said.
State Police Sgt. Matthew Koehler, who was on scene on Monday, referred questions to the Attorney General’s Office. He said he believed the Major Crime Unit arrived around 9 or 9:30 a.m.
Investigators spent much of the afternoon canvassing the garage, the yard and the interior of the home. They often exited the house carrying paper bags that they brought inside the Major Crime Unit van.
Around 5:30 p.m., Koehler said the unit was about to clear the scene. Shortly after, a cleaning crew arrived.
