Now that its annual silent auction is over, the AVA Gallery and Art Center in Lebanon returns to a regular exhibition schedule this weekend with a show by four area artists. There is an opening reception Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m., featuring a musical performance by saxophonist Fred Haas and guitarist Billy Rosen.
Torin Porter, of Glover, Vt., will show small steel sculptures in an exhibition titled “Forms of Life.” A Dartmouth graduate, Porter has created sculpture-based events for the band Phish, and toured with the dance troupe MOMIX. He will give a gallery talk on Saturday, May 7 at 4 p.m.
Enfield artist Patty Castellini, who is also a member of the AVA arts faculty, will show recent monotypes. She will give a gallery talk on May 12 at 6 p.m.
Roger Goldenberg, of Lebanon, will be exhibiting monotypes and oils in a show titled “Visual Jazz.” He will give a gallery talk next Thursday at 6 p.m.
Finally, Jane Davies, of Rupert, Vt., will be showing recent abstract paintings and prints.
The AVA exhibition runs through June 1.
Art Walks: SoRo Artwalks kicks off this Friday with a tour of art exhibitions in South Royalton from 5 to 7 p.m. Participating venues are: RB’s delicatessen, South Royalton Market, Tatunka Tattoo, The Commons@BALE, and the Royalton Memorial Library. (The library closes at 6 p.m.)
The dates for the remaining Art Walks are Friday, May 20; Saturday, June 18 from 4-6 p.m.; Friday, July 22; Friday, Aug. 26; Friday, Sept. 23; and Friday, Oct. 28. With the exception of June 18, all walks take place between 5 and 7 p.m.

Hopkins Center, Dartmouth College, Hanover. The work of Eric Van Hove is on view in the Jaffe-Friede Gallery through May 1. Dartmouth College professor of studio art Louise Hamlin has a show of “Garlic Scapes: Drawings and Prints” in the Strauss Gallery.
Howe Library, Hanover. “Route 66 in Oklahoma — What Once Was As it is Now,” a show of photographs by Rich Perry, ends April 27.
Kilton Public Library, West Lebanon. An exhibition of artwork by West Lebanon students runs through May 31.
