Norwich resident Josh Goodrich is one of nine Vermonters to receive a $5,000 scholarship from the Vermont Space Grant Consortium toward studies in aeronautics, space and related fields.
During the coming academic year, Goodrich will be a junior at the University of Vermont, where he is majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics. The university is part of the state’s space-grant consortium with Vermont Technical College and Saint Michael’s College, working with support from the National Aeronautic and Space Administration’s National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program.

Enfield resident Emma Pilczynski and White River Junction’s Taylor Potter received bachelor’s degrees in business administration from the University of Rhode Island in May, during commencement ceremonies at the Kingston, R.I., campus.
Potter graduated cum laude for grades earned while specializing in finance. Pilczynski studied accounting.
The Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology awarded master’s degrees to White River Junction resident Meagan Kidder and to Orford’s Alexander Marshall, and conferred bachelor’s degrees on Grantham’s Sarah Oldsmith and South Pomfret’s Rachel Allen.
Kidder earned her master’s in business administration, while Marshall completed his post-graduate studies in microelectronic engineering.
Goldsmith and Allen each majored in environmental science.
Lebanon residents Ashley Moctezuma and Carrie Thorpe received bachelor’s degrees from Berkeley College on May 5, during commencement ceremonies at the private New Jersey school.
Thorpe graduated with honors after completing her studies in business administration. Moctezuma majored in criminal justice.
Enfield resident Emily Sweet, New London’s Emma Limburg and Springfield, N.H.’s Alexandra Pacheco received bachelor’s degrees from Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I., in May.
Sweet earned her degree in criminal justice; Limburg and Pacheco each graduated cum laude, Limberg with a degree in global communication and Pacheco with a bachelor of arts in elementary education.
Collegiate Honors
Marist College recently named Orford resident Megan Landgraf to its dean’s list, for her academic achievements during the spring 2017 semester at the private school in upstate New York. Landgraf, who will be a sophomore when classes resume this fall, is majoring in political science.
Four Upper Valley residents made the grade for the dean’s list at Union College during the spring semester.
Zachary Kent, a White River Junction resident who graduated this spring, majored in neuroscience. Kimberly MacLeod, of Lebanon, also graduated with a biology degree. Woodstock freshman Kallan Piconi is majoring in liberal arts and Thetford Center junior Colby Richardson in environmental policy.
