Wilder — A motel fire was quickly extinguished Tuesday night and the damage was contained to a single room, according to a news release from the Hartford Fire Department.

Damage from a mattress fire appears to have been contained to Room 8 at the Wilder Motel, according to the release. The room was unoccupied at the time of the fire and nobody was injured. Firefighters responded shortly after 11 p.m. and the fire was under control in less than a half-hour.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
