WEST WINDSOR — The Selectboard is proposing a combined general fund and highway budget of $1.39 million, an increase of almost $25,000, or 1.8%, from last year.
The amount to be raised by taxes is up about $32,000, according to the town warning.
Among the other articles on the warning are a petition article to pay the town of Windsor $2,000 so West Windsor residents can use the Windsor recreational facilities without paying the non-resident fee and $5,850 to be raised in taxes to increase the library hours from eight to 15 a week, add to library resources and make other service enhancements.
All town officers will be nominated and elected from the floor. Incumbent Selectboard member Brett Myers’ three-year seat is among those to be decided.
Support of the fire department, FAST squad, historical society, Independence Day Committee and Sheddsville Cemetery are under one article for $70,650. Another $9,807 is being requested to support a number of social service agencies including Visiting Nurses Association, Health Care & Rehabilitation Services of Southeastern Vermont and Windsor County Mentors.
West Windsor Town Meeting is Tuesday, March 3 at 9 a.m. in Story Memorial Hall in Brownsville.
