Chris Gish (Sharon Academy), a freshman at the University of Vermont, finished 21st at the America East Conference championships in 25.30.0. The Catamounts finished fifth out of nine teams. … Green Mountain was 11th out of 11 teams at the North Atlantic Conference meet and senior Josh Drummond (Sunapee) was 69th in 37:25. … Williams (Mass.) College senior Noah Williams (Norwich/Hanover) helped his team finish second at the Division III regionals, running 25:23 and finishing 28th out of 384 competitors. … UMass Lowell sophomore Josh Fontaine (Lebanon) finished 54th out of 134 competitors in 26:03.5 at the Indiana State Adidas Pre-Nationals meet’s white division. The River Hawks finished sixth out of nine teams in the America East Conference meet a year after winning the event, but Fontaine did not finish his race there. … Vermont Tech finished fifth out of nine schools at the Vermont College state meet. Sophomore Dave Mattern (Tunbridge) was 46th out of 74 runners in 30:37. … Junior John Henry Vansant (Hanover/KUA) helped Wesleyan finish seventh out of 11 teams at the New England Small College Athletic Conference title meet, finishing 118th out of 123 runners in 29:24.9, … Senior Galen Moynihan (Plainfield/Lebanon) ran for Union (N.Y.) College during the Saratoga Invitational, placing 164th out of 172 runners in 36:49.9. … Freshman Eric Bailey (Newport) competed for Franklin Pierce, finishing 82nd out of 83 runners in 22:45.7 during an eight-way meet on a 5K course at Mount St. Mary’s (Md.) College in early September. Junior teammate Martin Gradijan (Lebanon) was 62nd in 17.38.7 during the same meet. The Ravens finished fourth out of 15 schools at the Northeast 10 Conference championships with Gradijan running 72nd out of 154 competitors and in 28:07.7. … Colby-Sawyer won the NAC title with freshman Ben Jones (Enfield/Mascoma) running 27:27.3 to finish eighth out of 101 runners and classmate Liam Fleming (Orford/Rivendell) finishing 15th in 28:32.2.
Middlebury junior Liesel Robbins (Hanover) finished 32nd at the Dartmouth Invitational in 26:39.29. … St. Michael’s senior Hallie Bergwall (Lebanon) posted her best time of the season during the opening meet at St. Anselm, running 25:08 and finishing 35th out of 47 runners. … UVM senior Denali Balser (South Pomfret/Woodstock) saved her best time for her last meet, running 19:37.5 and finishing 70th out of 86 competitors on a 5K course at the Rothenberg-Brown Invitational. Running 18:57.6 at that same event was junior teammate Margaret Gish (Sharon/Sharon Academy), who came in 58th. … Junior Elena Santos (Reading/Woodstock) finished 57th in 33:50 for Green Mountain College, which was eighth at the eight-team NAC championship meet. … Freshman Isabelle Tuggle (Norwich/Hanover) competed for Lyndon State, which finished 57th out of 59 teams at the NCAA Division III New England Championships. Tuggle ran a personal-best time of 29:38 and finished 372nd out of 406 competitors. … Castleton junior Elizabeth Bassette (Woodstock) helped the Spartans finish second out of nine teams at the NAC championships, an improvement of six spots over last year. She finished fourth out of 86 competitors in 21:40.8. … Johnson State’s roster included two area athletes, freshman Lily Denmeade (Quechee/Woodstock) and sophomore Shelby Rosten (Groton/Oxbow). The Badgers were sixth out of 10 teams at the NAC championship meet with Rosten coming in 48th (26:50.9) and Denmeade 51st (27:05.5) out of 86 runners.
Rivier was 4-11 with sophomore goaltender Emily Foster (West Lebanon/Lebanon) starting nine of the 11 games in which she played and posting a 3.08 GAA and a .736 save percentage. … Bryant (R.I.) University (4-14) got 17 appearances from sophomore Haley Wood (Brownsvile/Windsor), who scored on her only shot. Classmate Emily Perryman (West Lebanon/Lebanon) started every game and had four goals and an assist. … Junior defender Casey Ostler (White River Junction/Hartford) played in one game for St. Lawrence (6-11). Teammate and freshman forward Kelsey Pollard (Meriden/KUA) started six of 14 games in which she competed. … Castleton University was 6-12. Sophomore defender Iyanna Williams (Windsor) played in 10 games and started three of them. … Senior midfielder Allyse Mullen (Wilder/Hartford) and junior midfielder Kaytlynn Kenney (Newport) were part of Colby-Sawyer’s 11-6 campaign. Mullen started every game and had four goals and five assists. Kenney played in 13 contests. … Junior forward Kate Pattison (Hanover) started seven of 14 games and had an assist as Williams went 10-7. … Massachusetts (14-8) played two games in the NCAA tournament, losing to No. 2 seed Maryland. Junior Shauna Rankin-Byrne (Lebanon) played in 21 games. … Senior defender Abbey Rouillard (Claremont/Stevens) and freshman forward Kendra MacDonald (Lebanon) helped the University of New England go 20-4, win its third consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference title and advance to the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament for the second consecutive year. Rouillard played in 16 games and MacDonald played in 24 games and had four goals and six assists. … St. Michael’s was 6-12 with junior Jenna Deschaine (Claremont/Stevens) starting every game and producing two goals and two assists. … Senior Amelia Gage (Lebanon) started every game for Wheaton (Mass.) College, which finished 7-10. … Plymouth State (11-6) got defender Katie Shippa (Lebanon) on the field four times during her freshman season. … Freshman defender Elle Brine (Lebanon) helped Bowdoin (Maine) College go 11-5 while starting two of the 10 games in which she competed. … Hannah Scott (Claremont/Stevens) was a freshman midfielder for Simmons (Mass.) College, which was 11-8. Scott posted three assists while starting seven of the 15 games in which she saw action.
Bowdoin was 0-8 and freshman cornerback Matt Whalen (Hanover) and junior linebacker Austin Stern (Lyme) each saw playing time. The former played in every game, had 18 tackles and returned six kicks for 90 yards. The latter had 20 tackles. … Brothers Shawn Cavallaro, a running back, and Jack Cavallaro, a tight end, (Hanover) were on the roster at New Hampshire (8-4), which reached the Football Championship Subdivision tournament for the 13th consecutive year. Wildcats senior guard Alexander Morrill (Lebanon) had his season end early because of a hip injury. … Castleton (4-6) had three area standouts on its roster. Junior tight end Ed Doton (Barnard/Woodstock) played in eight games and caught 11 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown. Senior quarterback Luke TanCreti (Hartland/Windsor) saw action five times and completed 2 of 12 passes for 54 yards. He had one toss intercepted. Sophomore defensive lineman Tayler Larmie (White River Junction/Hartford) played in five contests and had three tackles. … Nichols (Mass.) College was 6-4 with freshman linebacker C.J. Lawrence (Newport) recording 10 tackles.
Green Mountain, which brought golf back as a varsity sport last year, featured senior Trenton Morrision (Tunbridge/Sharon Academy). He shot 106 and finished 68th and the Eagles were 14th at the 14-team Westfield State Invitational in September. … Senior Zach Temple (Hartland/Hartford) finished second at the NAC championships and helped Castleton to a fourth-place finish out of eight teams. … T.J. Barber (Cornish/Lebanon), a freshman at Nichols, competed in seven matches with an 81 scoring average. The Bison finished third at the New England Division III championships, during which Barber finished 39th. … Austin Walters (Grantham/Lebanon) is a sophomore at Johnston State, which finished sixth at the NAC championships. Walters tied for 12th out of 39 golfers by shooting a 76 and then a 79 during the two-day event. … Senior Clint Goodwin (Lebanon) finished his career at Daniel Webster by tying for 11th out of 30 competitors at the two-day NECC championships, shooting 84 and 78. … St. Lawrence’s roster included freshman Lane Celone (Lyme/Hanover) and seniors Andrew Kimbell (Woodstock) and Zach Taylor (Hanover). All three competed during the St. Lawrence Invitational, during which the hosts finished third out of 12 teams. Kimbell tied for 15th, Celone tied for 27th and Taylor tied for 31st. … Nate Choukas (Hanover), a junior at Trinity (Conn.) College, played in two of the Bantams’ four matches this fall. They finished second in the 10-team NESCAC championships.
Middlebury (10-4-3) featured senior goalkeeper Duncan Piper (Hanover) and junior midfielder Jed Sass (White River Junction/Hartford). The latter appeared in 11 games and had a goal and two assists. … Sophomore Sawyer Levy (Bethel/Sharon Academy) started 14 of the 15 games in which he appeared for Green Mountain (0-15) and had a 6.07 GAA and a .642 save percentage. The Eagles were outscored, 91-4, and have a 1-31 record the past two seasons. … Kenyon (Ohio) College (20-3) advanced to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals for the second consecutive season. Junior defender David Scherding (Woodstock/KUA) played in two games and senior defender Gabe Freund (Thetford Center/Thetford Academy) appeared in nine contests, starting one. … Vermont Tech was 6-11 and its roster included David Mattern (Tunbridge) and junior midfielder Hunter Brock (Royalton/South Royalton). Mattern started 12 of the 15 games in which he played and had three assists. Brock started six of 15 contests. … Sophomore midfielder Jackson Greenspan (Meriden/KUA) helped Babson go 11-5-4 while starting all 18 games in which he played and producing a goal and an assist. … New York University was 9-8-2 with sophomore forward Evan Reifsnyder (KUA). Reifsnyder started once in 10 appearances and had two goals. … Colby (Maine) College (5-8-2) featured freshman Asa Berolzheimer (Hanover), who appeared in three games and started once. Sophomore teammate and forward Wyett MacDonald (Plainfield/KUA) played in four contests. … Freshman Addison Wanner (Lyme/Hanover) was a defender and midfielder for Ohio’s College of Wooster. The Fighting Scots were 4-12-2 and Wanner appeared in three games. … Junior defender Jeff Purdy (Grantham/Lebanon) started 11 of the 15 games in which he played for Norwich (12-4-4). … Castleton was 8-9-2. Junior goalkeeper Aaron Parker (Hartland/Hartford) started 13 of the 15 games in which he played and had a 1.28 GAA and a .786 save percentage. Freshman midfielder Mason Thompson (Hartland/Woodstock) appeared in 12 contests and had one goal. … Junior forward Taylor Stone (Plainfield/Lebanon) started 11 of the 12 games in which he played as Johnson State went 2-13. … Freshman defender Chris Morse (Meriden/Lebanon) helped New England College go 11-10-1 while starting five of the 13 games in which he appeared. … Northeastern was 6-11 with freshman midfielder Jonas Taenzer (Hanover) and junior midfielder Charlton Muhlauri (KUA). Taenzer started two of the 15 games in which he appeared and Muhlauri started six of the 17 games in which he played, contributing an assist. … Sophomore midfielder Morgan Dewdney (Meriden/KUA) played in four games and notched an assist for Bates (Maine) College (6-7-2). … Sophomore goalkeeper Dylan Ward (KUA) got into one game as a field player for Colorado College (16-3-1). … St. Lawrence (N.Y.) University (11-4-1) reached the NCAA Division III playoffs with sophomore midfielder Connor Higgins (KUA) and freshman defender Dylan DeTurk (Hartland/KUA) among its players. Higgins started one of the two games in which he appeared and DeTurk saw action in one contest.
Freshman forward Maddy Morse (Brownsville/Windsor) appeared in 11 games for St. Michael’s (4-13). … Bowdoin went 9-6-1 with sophomore defender Sophie Lubrano (Hanover) playing four times. Her sister, Georgia Lubrano (Hanover), was part of Colby’s 6-9 campaign. The senior defender started all 14 games in which she played. … Freshman Rachel Moore (Sharon/South Royalton) weathered an 0-15-1 season at Green Mountain, which was outscored, 85-3. The midfielder started each of the six games in which she played and tallied once. … Castleton junior defender Katie Sanders (KUA) helped the Spartans finish 7-8-6, starting every game. … Senior midfielder Devon Day (Hartland/Hartford) started 20 of the 21 games in which she played for Lasell (Mass.) College, scoring four times and adding six assists. The Lasers were 18-3-1, winning the Great Northeast Athletic Conference and losing in the first round of the national tournament, which they reached for the seventh consecutive year. … New England College senior midfielder and co-captain Jessica Barnum (Hartland/Hartford) sophomore midfielder Michaela Pomeroy (Thetford/Thetford Academy) and freshman defender and forward Emily Barnum (Taftsville/Woodstock) were part of the Pilgrims’ 13–6-1 season, which ended in the NAC title game. Jessica Barnum started all 19 games in which she played and had two goals and an assist. Pomeroy started 18 of the 20 contests in which she competed and had 11 goals and three assists. Emily Barnum saw action seven times. … Johnson State was 3-12 and featured freshman goalkeeper Kaila Lemmer (Barnard/Woodstock). She started all seven games she played, going 1-6 with a 5.83 GAA and a .690 save percentage. … Catherine Auger-Morin (KUA), a sophomore defender at Lake Forest (Ill.) College, helped the Foresters go 10-7-2 while starting all nine games in which she competed and producing a goal and an assist. … Freshman goalkeeper Katelyn Fowler (KUA) started nine of 11 games in which she played at Elon (N.C.) University, compiling a 4-3-3 record, a 1.19 GAA and a .750 save percentage. The Phoenix were 7-9-3. … Freshman midfielder Dee Martin (Bath/Woodsville) started three of the 17 games she played for Clarkson (5-9-3) and contributed two goals and an assist. … The College of St. Rose in Rutland went 0-12 during its inaugural varsity season. Included on the roster were freshman defender Summer Spaulding (South Royalton) and sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Turco (Windsor).
Junior Natalie Graf (New London) rides for the Endicott (Mass.) College equestrian team. She qualified for regional competition by finishing third in the open flat category at a November meet at Dartmouth College. … Nathalie Ferneau (Canaan/Hanover) is a junior with the Dartmouth equestrian team, which won its last three meets of the fall. She finished second in novice fences during the last of those competitions. … Maggie Kinder (Pike/Woodsville) is a Colby-Sawyer freshman rider who competed primarily in Advanced Walk, Trot, Canter this season. She had three second-place finishes during the fall. … Juniors Kali Covell (Hartford) and Ashley Fogg (White River Junction/Hartford) were part of the Johnson State tennis team’s 9-5 season. Covell lost at second doubles and No. 4 singles for the Badgers during the NEAC semifinals, a 6-3 loss to Husson. … Sophomore wrestler Chris Washington (Hanover) is a 174-pound competitor at Williams, one of three at that weight for the Ephs. … Sophomore Audrey Swift (Lebanon) is on the crew at Colgate, where she’s in the first varsity eight. The Raiders were eighth out of 20 teams in 13:30.8 at the Head of the Fish regatta in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., in early November. … Freshman Tristan McCutcheon (Lyme) rowed in St. Lawrence’s novice four boat at the HOF. It finished fifth in 12:31.6. The Saints’ third varsity entry included junior Ian Girdwood (Lebanon) and finished 14th. On the women’s side, freshman Addie Brendel (Norwich/Hanover) was part of the second varsity entry at the same meet. It crossed in 14:38.7, good for 10th place. … Tufts freshman Emily Calandrella (Norwich/Hanover) crewed in six regattas this fall. The Jumbos beat seven other teams to win the Mystic Lake Invitational in October.
