Sharon, Vt. —
She was born Jan. 23, 1955, in Hanover, N.H. the daughter of Laurence “Tom” and Rosalyn “Rose” (Cushman) Paronto. She attended school in Sharon and later South Royalton where she graduated in 1973 from South Royalton High School.
On Oct. 8, 1988, she married James Reed, Sr. They lived all their married life in Sharon.
Joyce worked for many people in the Sharon and Norwich, Vt. area with her gardening/cleaning business. Eight years ago she had to retire when she suffered a stroke. The last six years she has made her home at the Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow, Vt.
She enjoyed brook trout fishing, attending NASCAR races, flower and vegetable gardening, good food, playing music, and listening to bluegrass music. She loved spending time with her niece and nephew when they were young.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas Paronto and his wife, Marty of Sharon; a nephew, Jason Paronto and his wife, Brianna of West Fairlee, Vt.; a niece, Katherine Bessette of Wilder, Vt.; three great-nephews, Tanner, Payton, Cooper and several cousins.
There are no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held, Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Sharon Congregational Church in Sharon.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to, the Gill Odd Fellows Home, of Vermont, 8 Gill Terrace, Ludlow, VT 05149.
