Roy Thomas, manager of the McDonaldโ€™s on Washington Street in Claremont, has won the Ray Kroc Award โ€” named after the fast good giantโ€™s founder โ€” that recognizes the top-performing managers in the McDonaldโ€™s system.

Itโ€™s the third time that Thomas, a 34-year McDonaldโ€™s employee and Rutland resident, has won the award in 14 years. The award is given to only 365 managers of McDonaldโ€™s franchises around the world and will be presented at a banquet in Orlando, Fla., in April.

The Claremont McDonaldโ€™s is owned an operated by Coughlin Inc., a Rutland-based group owner of 10 McDonaldโ€™s locations in the Twin States, including franchises in Randolph; Springfield, Vt.; and Newport, N.H.
