SOUTH WOODSTOCK — A 32-year-old horseback rider from Massachusetts suffered fatal injuries while competing at the Green Mountain Horse Association’s Festival of Eventing in South Woodstock on Sunday.
Jennifer Chapin suffered a “rotational fall” in the cross-country warmup, according to a news release from GMHA.
Chapin, of Wenham, Mass., was riding her horse Joinem, a 12-year-old thoroughbred gelding, when she fell.
She was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where she later died, the release states. The horse was uninjured.
