New student voting requirements in N.H.

These are the new rules for students 18 years and older who want to vote in Nov 3rd’s election. They should register to vote at town halls now or at the polls on election day. In order to do this, a student must prove age, citizenship, domicile, and identity. The best way to do this is with a passport/passport card and a rental agreement or dorm assignment with a current address.

Student IDs can no longer be used for voting purposes. If a student lacks a passport, a federal or New Hampshire state driver’s license or New Hampshire ID with photo will work when paired with the rental agreement or dorm assignment with a current address.
Go to the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s website the latest rules for voting.
