FAIRLEE — Voters approved moving Fairlee’s annual Town Meeting from a Tuesday to a Saturday during a Special Town Meeting on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Residents will now gather the Saturday before the first Tuesday in March at Fairlee Town Hall to conduct all town business. Town Meeting will take place on Saturday, Feb. 27, in 2027, Fairlee Town Clerk Georgette Wolf-Ludwig said in a Tuesday phone interview.
Saturday’s Special Town Meeting was attended by 68 residents, who voted by voice vote to approve the change, she said. The entire meeting took 16 minutes.
“I’m optimistic. I’m hoping that we will get more folks,” she said. “I’m excited to see what plays out on Saturday. Give it a chance.”
During Town Meeting 2026, which took place on a Tuesday, 79 people checked in to vote, Wolf-Ludwig said.
